张帅6-0+4-0后，逼迫大满贯冠军退赛，王欣瑜被逆转，郑钦文退出

北京时间8月5日凌晨，WTA1000多伦多站第二轮，37岁的张帅打出了一场残暴的比赛，第一盘6-0送蛋、第二盘4-0领先之后，收到大满贯冠军奥斯塔彭科的退赛大礼，轻松晋级32强，同时收获奖金47605美元，折合人民币超过34万元。
翻看二人此前交手记录，奥斯塔彭科曾经两次击败张帅，不过这两次交手已经比较久远，分别发生在2018年的罗马1000赛、2019年的印第安维尔斯站，张帅都是0-2的完败。
时隔7年再度碰面，这一次张帅送给奥斯塔彭科一场完败。最新一期世界排名，奥斯塔彭科排在第29，张帅位列第62，双方还是存在一定实力差距，但张帅在场面上丝毫不落下风。
首盘比赛仅仅耗时33分17秒，张帅便轻松送出一枚鸭蛋，一发成功率来到70%，一发得分率高达86%，同时实现100%保发，另外她的接发球极具威胁，接发得分率61%，持续冲击奥斯塔彭科的发球。
第二盘比赛，奥斯塔彭科依旧没能找到调整方向，开局张帅延续火热手感，持续向对手施压，再度连下四局建立4-0领先优势。随后，奥斯塔彭科宣布退赛。张帅连赢10局，强势晋级第三轮，下一轮对手将是萨巴伦卡和内岛萌夏之间的胜者。
同样参加WTA1000多伦多女单比赛的王欣瑜，则是止步首轮比赛，最终6-1、6-7、5-7遭到卡萨金娜的逆转，全场制胜分42比11领先情况下，却出现69个非受迫性失误，还有8个双误，尤其第二盘4-1领先和决胜盘5-3领先的情况下，最后都输掉了。
需要打资格赛的郑钦文，则是0-2不敌泰国选手塔拉鲁迪，遗憾无缘正赛，也是时隔五年之后再度输掉资格赛的比赛。
原本郑钦文打算参加WTA1000辛辛那提站的资格赛，随后决定退出这一站比赛，提前备战半个月之后开打的美网资格赛，一方面没有外卡资格，另一方面是即时世界排名已经跌到123位。
