黄蜂GM：交易鲍尔的决定不容易 但能一次性实现多个目标

北京时间7月12日，据ESPN报道，夏洛特黄蜂篮球运营总裁杰夫·彼得森表示，交易拉梅洛·鲍尔可能是自己做过最艰难的决定，但这么做的目标，是为了帮助黄蜂建立长期稳定的竞争力，并在未来具备争夺总冠军的实力。
在这笔交易正式完成后，彼得森于当地时间周六接受媒体采访，解释了球队为何会做出这一令人意外的决定，送走这位队史最受欢迎的球员之一。黄蜂将鲍尔和约什·格林交易至明尼苏达森林狼，换来纳兹·里德、2033年无保护首轮选秀权、三个次轮选秀权以及三个首轮互换权。这笔交易属于一笔涉及篮网和公牛在内的四方交易。
“这样的决定有时候确实非常艰难，但如果你回顾整个赛季，并全面审视球队所处的位置，就必须诚实地照照镜子，看看自己到底是什么样的球队，”彼得森在拉斯维加斯夏季联赛期间举行的新闻发布会上说道，“赛季结束后，我必须这样做。而我最终意识到，我们的目标绝不是为了争夺一个附加赛席位，也不是为了只打进一次附加赛，甚至只是打进一次季后赛。
“自从来到黄蜂以来，我已经说过很多次了：我们的目标是打进季后赛，并长期留在那里，最终成长为一支真正具备争冠实力的球队。当你有机会得到纳兹·里德这样级别的球员，再加上选秀资产和阵容灵活性，这笔交易让我们能够一次性实现多个目标。”
