近期，菲律宾网球选手伊埃拉非常火，21岁的她在WTA华盛顿站拿到冠军，创造菲律宾网球历史。菲律宾球迷在场边为她们的明星呐喊加油，但素质也遭到了一定的质疑。
在WTA500华盛顿站的首场比赛中，伊埃拉对阵郑钦文。当郑钦文发球的时候，看台上的菲律宾球迷故意大喊大叫，干扰郑钦文的发球。赛后，很多国外网友批评菲律宾球迷太没有素质。
凭借5战全胜的战绩，伊埃拉拿到了华盛顿站冠军。此后，她又转战多伦多公开赛，并接连击败了帕克斯以及麦克纳利，豪取7连胜。8月10日，伊埃拉在多伦多站1/8决赛中迎战本西奇。第一盘，伊埃拉4-6落败。第二盘，伊埃拉则完全处于劣势，被打出了尴尬的0-6。
值得一提的是，每当本西奇发球失误的时候，菲律宾球迷就在看台上呐喊起哄，给本西奇喝倒彩。对此，国外解说员怒批菲律宾球迷没有素质：“对手只要一失误，他们就在那鼓掌。这显然不是竞技体育该有的风度。”
输给本西奇后，伊埃拉的7连胜被终结。赛后，她笑着表示：“多伦多的掌声比胜利更让我难忘。”频繁的赛事影响了伊埃拉的体能。接下来，她需要好好地休息一番。
