6月26日，美加墨世界杯小组赛D组第3轮两场比赛同时进行。已经提前出线的东道主美国队，迎战提前出局的土耳其队。另一场比赛的对决在巴拉圭队和澳大利亚队之间展开。土耳其最后时刻绝杀美国队，而澳大利亚队同巴拉圭队则战成了平局。

整场比赛两队的进攻欲望都不强。上半场比赛补时阶段，沃尔帕托的小角度射门被对方门将扑出。第90分钟乔丹-博斯弧线球兜射远角，皮球差之毫厘。最终90分钟比赛战罢，0-0的比分是两支球队都能接受的结果。
至此，D组小组赛比赛全部结束。美国队2胜1负拿到6分，排名小组第1晋级淘汰赛阶段。澳大利亚队1胜1平1负积4分，净胜球优势力压巴拉圭，获得了小组第2名。巴拉圭队同样拿到4分，排名小组第3位进入待定区。土耳其队1胜2负积3分，小组赛阶段结束后打道回府。
随着巴拉圭同澳大利亚的比赛战成平局，韩国队在小组第3的排名中已经下降到了第6的位置。接下来的2个比赛日当中，还有6个小组的第3轮比赛陆续进行。目前排名第6的韩国队，晋级淘汰赛的形势已经岌岌可危。
